The Foreign Intelligence Service says that none of the presidential candidates is an officer of the Service

The Foreign Intelligence Service informed the Commission of Control of the service activity that none of the candidates in the presidential elections is an officer of the Service, Senator Ilie Sarbu, vice-chairman of the commistion has said today. The announcement has been made as the Romanian President Traian Basescu said that one of the candidates was an undercover officer and warned him to complete his resume. Yesterday the MPs from the Democrat Liberal Party and National Liberal Party demanded the establishment of an inquiry parliamentary commission to clarify the information provided by the President that among the candidates for the Presidency there was an undercover officer.

Romanian-US military exercise

Romanian and American troops will participate, from September 17th to 26th , in an exercise led by the 4th "Gemini" Infantry Division commandment. The instruction activities will take place in the training units of the land forces in the counties of Sibiu and Brasov. The scenario, called "Joint Effort-14", aimed at developing response and cooperation capabilities in crisis situations or wartime. The exercise will be attended by over 1,300 soldiers from units of the Romanian Army, along with 150 American Marines. The American troops are from the Marine Corps deployed in the Black Sea, Balkans and Caucasus, which acts for promoting stability in the region.

TAROM flights schedule back to normal

TAROM flights schedule is back to normal. No flight has been canceled anymore and there are no delays, after talks, yesterday, between the pilots trade union and the Government. The flight schedule has been disrupted in recent days when part of the pilots and flight attendants used a new form of protest, namely, announced that they would not come to work, arguing that they were unable to operate the planes. The real reason for dissatisfaction is related, mainly, to reducing of wage related bonuses.
