Romanian police missions in Paris and Amsterdam

32 Romanian police officers are on mission in Paris. Their aim is to support the French police in combating offences involving Romanian citizens. They help both to prevent pick-pocketing in tourist areas, and to identify networks of home burglars and prostitution. This kind of cooperation has been exiting for several years and is highly appreciated by the French partners. After a period in which the number of crimes committed by Romanians increased a lot, by 70 percent between 2009 and 2011, starting the end of last year, statistics show a dropping in offences. A team of police officers from the Bucharest Police will go, on a temporary mission, by the weekend to Amsterdam, where they will work jointly, for four days, with the local police to identify those who might commit offences during street events.
