National Anthem Day is marked across Romania

The National Anthem Day is marked, today, across the country in public ceremonies, organized by the military in cooperation with the local authorities. In Bucharest, a military ceremony, attended by Prime Minister Victor Ponta, has taken place in the morning in the Tricolor Square. "Wake up, Romanian!" was chosen as the Romanian National Anthem after the Revolution of 1989, and it was later enshrined in the Constitution of 1991. The National Anthem Day was proclaimed in 1998 and it is celebrated every year on July 29th.

The Government will make budget rectification

The Government will make, on Friday, the first budget rectification this year. The Prime Minister Victor Ponta has announced, today, that the largest amounts of money will go to healthcare, defense, economy, transportation and education sectors. Additional money will be received also by the Ministries of Labor, Culture and Home Affairs, including the Permanent Electoral Authority. On the other hand, the main institutions that will have funds substantial cut down are the Ministries of Finance and the Environment. The Head of the Government has said that by the end of September, the executive may make a second budget correction.

Foreign Ministry requires clarification on army mobilization by Kiev

The Romanian Foreign Ministry called on the Ukrainian authorities to clarify the military mobilization started by Kiev, after the Romanian ethnics in Chernivtsi region began to protest against sending young people to fight the separatists in the east of the country. The ministry says that it is in constant contact with representatives of the Romanian ethnics and the Ukrainian civil and military authorities. The Romanian diplomatic representatives have told the authorities in Kiev that they expect that the mobilization procedures will not have a discriminatory character based on ethnic criteria.

Romania will send police and rule of law experts to Ukraine

Romania will send, within an European mission, police and rule of law experts for supporting Ukraine. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has said, for Radio Romania News, that it is a civil mission by the European Union that will have an advisory role and whose creation was decided after Kiev has asked for aid in reforming civil security sector.
