Liberal National Party (PNL) and Liberal Democrat Party (PDL) form "Christian-Liberal Alliance PNL-PDL"

"Christian-Liberal Alliance PDL-PNL" - is the name under which the two parties will participate in presidential elections this autumn. PDL President Vasile Blaga has said that this option was chosen, since the merger of the two parties will not be real in legal terms until the November elections. In turn, President of the Liberal Democrat Party, Klaus Johannis, has said that he, as the Liberal candidate for the presidential position and the PDL candidate Cǎtǎlin Predoiu will be subject to a sociological study that will determine which of them is best regarded by the voters. Based on this study, Christian-Liberal Alliance PDL-PNL will choose a single candidate for the presidential elections.

Victor Ponta: Romania will support any measure taken at international and European level after the disaster in Ukraine

The Romania Prime Minister Victor Ponta has announced that Romania will support any measure taken at international and European level in the aftermath of the plane crash in Ukraine. The statement has been made today at the award ceremony in Sibiu for the military alumni of the "Nicolae Bălcescu" Land Forces Academy.

Victor Ponta: As Prime Minister of Romania I support exactly the same ideas that the attack against a civilian aircraft is a terrorist attack that cannot be accepted and cannot remain without consequences. It is obvious that these separatist terrorists have been and are supported by the Russian Federation and there is at least a moral and political responsibility of Russia for what is happening there, and Romania, together with the United States and the European Union must support Ukraine, and implicitly Moldova, Georgia, not only to preserve their independence and sovereignty, but also to combat these phenomena, and that any action we take at the international level in this respect will be and is supported by Romania.

ExxonMobil Romania and OMV Petrom have announced the beginning of drilling at Domino-2 well, in the high depth area of Neptune block, the Romanian sector of the Black Sea. ExxonMobil has said, in a statement, that the data collected during the drilling program will be used to assess the size and commercial viability of gas deposit discovered in 2012. The Domino-2 well is located at about 200 km from the shore and the drilling is carried out in waters of approximately 800 meters deep.
