New unified party of the right will be called the National Liberal Party

Political negotiations for the unification of the right parties have been concluded. LDP and LNP leaders, Vasile Blaga and Klaus Johannis, have announced, not long ago, that the new party will be called the National Liberal Party and the merger congresses will be held on July 26th . In presidential elections, NLP and LDP will run as an electoral alliance, and it will designate its presidential candidate in early August.

Public Tender for leasing 1,000 kilometers of railways

The Romanian Railways, CFR, announced, on Monday, that it would hold a public tender for the lease of over 1,000 kilometers of track where Company’s passenger trains no longer circulate because it would not be cost effective. According to a press release, the contract would be valid for four years and the granting criteria will be the highest price. Renting sections of railway track belonging to nonfunctional railway infrastructure represents one of the commitments made by the Government in the Letter of Intent signed with the International Monetary Fund and the Memorandum of Understanding with the European Union.

Belgrade can count on Bucharest’s support

"Romania strongly supports Serbia's European integration process, the new Government of Serbia and its efforts to modernize the country and implement necessary reforms towards the EU" - Romanian Prime Minister Victor Ponta said before his visit to Belgrade. Asked about the message he took with him to Belgrade, Ponta replied "as it is natural between friends and good partners, the main message is one of respect and support for the new Government, in its intentions and efforts to modernize the country and implement the necessary reforms in the process of Serbia’s European integration". According to Mr Ponta, Bucharest is a reliable partner that Belgrade can count on and it will continue to provide support so that Serbia's efforts generate the expected results.

We want Romania to be the best advocate for Serbia's EU accession (Aleksandar Vucic)

The Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic has said that Serbia has friendly relationships with Romania, and it expects Bucharest to support Serbia's case in the EU integration process. "In the next four years we want to boost forward the relationships between Serbia and Romania" - said Vucic at the press-conference, after his meeting with Prime Minister of Romania, Victor Ponta. Recalling that Romania has been a close friend of Serbia, and throughout history the two countries have never been involved in an armed conflict with each other, Vucic has said that he is expecting " Romania's aid and support on the path towards the European Union".
