Foreign Minister Titus Corlățean ordered emergency activation of the Crisis Coordination Cell at ministerial level, in order to provide consular assistance for Romanians living in Gaza, including the perspective of eventual abandonment of area. Members of the crisis cell monitor the situation, they are in contact with local authorities and coordinate the activities on site. Romanian Foreign Ministry raised the travel warning to Israel and the Palestinian Territories, on July 8th, recommending avoiding trips to the area, except the strictly necessary ones. The ministry also advises Romanian citizens in Israel and the Palestinian Territories, or those ones moving towards these destinations, to announce their presence at the diplomatic missions in the area. The announcement, made through a press release, came just a day after Greenpeace activists chained themselves to fences surrounding the derrick. The real reason for the decision is not yet known. An oil spill appeared in the Black Sea, near the breakwater in ConstantaAn oil spill appeared in the Black Sea, near the breakwater in Constanta. The authorities have installed a dam and used absorbent material to recover the polluting agent. The area is continuously monitored, so that actions to be taken in the shortest time. On the night of January 4th, 1995, two ships ran aground and sank near the breakwater in Constanta. When the ships sank, there were more than 600 tons of fuel in the ships' tanks, according to records on board. The first pollution in the area was recorded in 2009, when the fuel tank of one of the vessels ruptured. The incident had no effect thanks to the divers who cemented the rift. (RADIO ROMANIA reports)
