For several years, UNICEF Romania involves in the prevention and reduction of school dropout

For several years, UNICEF Romania also involves itself in the prevention and reduction of school dropout, through its program, "Come to school!". In Bucharest, UNICEF representatives have urged authorities to fund mainly schools with high risk of dropout and to pay extra money the teachers with good units from disadvantaged backgrounds. Another recommendation of the international organization refers to the creation of a mechanism to stimulate the quality of education, according to Luminita Costache, UNICEF representative. The annual inflation rate reached a new historic low

The annual inflation rate was 0.66% in June, according to the National Institute of Statistics, a rate which reached a new historic low. The prices fell by 9.3% last month compared to May, the National Institute of Statistics announced today. Prices fell for food and services, while non-food prices rose slightly. On average, last month the largest discounts were recorded in vegetables, especially potatoes and eggs. In June, there have been small increases in prices for medicines, fuel and cigarettes. Recommendations for Romanians who go on holiday

Police officers warn that in summer the number of burglary usually increases and recommend Romanians to take all safety precautions before going on holiday. Chief Commissioner Helen Sipos, from the Institute for Crime Research and Prevention in Romanian Police, says that it is essential that vacation leave to be taken as less visible as possible. "Avoid to carry luggages at midday", warned Helen Sipos, "do not tell about the goods and money that exist at home, or about the family's daily routine" (RADIO ROMANIA reports)
