Payment period of the so-called ‘pole tax’ expires at the end of the week

The payment period of the so-called ‘pole tax’ by the businesses expires at the end of the week. The Government introduced the tax in November, and approved the implementing rules two days ago. The representatives of the investors claim that they have not clarified the situation. In addition, they point out that in its current form the tax will have a negative social impact. The investors require the removal of the tax or at least a tax rate reduction from 1.5 percent to 0.5 percent. The ‘pole tax’ means tax on special constructions that were previously exempted, and it must be paid by all legal persons, and not by the public institutions and research institutes of national interest.
