Nearly 300 people have refused to go to work at Turnu Magurele Chemical Plant

Nearly 300 people have refused, today, to go to work at Turnu Magurele Chemical Plant. Protests broke out as wages on March and April had not been paid. The trade union Secretary, Victor Trasca, has said that the employees are determined to stay in the street until they receive overdue payments. Meanwhile, the plant manager has promised that payments will be made today.

The Romanian national currency, leu, has reached, today, its best level in the last eight months, the Romanian National Bank has announced today. One euro is calculated by the Central Bank at a rate of 4.42 leu.

Attracting European funds for SMEs’ development will take effect in the second half of the year

The attracting of the European funds for the development of Small and Medium Size Enterprises and the tax news that will come into force in the second half of this year have been presented, today, at the Regional Forum of SMEs in the city of Arad. Most of the tax measures do not strictly target the SMEs, such as tax exemption of revenues reinvested in equipment or the financial support for the businesses that create new jobs.
