According to a Presidential Administration statement, the American official will be in Romania next Tuesday and Wednesday, at the invitation of Romanian President, Traian Basescu. The situation in Ukraine and the regional implications is one of the files that will be discussed with the Head of State and Prime Minister Victor Ponta. According to a press release, Joe Biden will stress the United States commitment to the principle of collective defense, as defined by Article 5 of the NATO Charter. Romania's population declined in March, compared to the previous month:;For the third month in a row, Romania's population declined in March by more than 7,500 people, compared to the previous month. The figure represents the difference between the number of deaths and the number of births in the period under review. Another important indicator for the demographic evolution and health status of the population is also negative. Data released by the National Institute of Statistics also show that the number of marriages in Romania is in a constant decline, while there are more divorces from month to month.
