Meeting Traian Basescu - Frank Rose, the American negotiator for Deveselu shield

Romanian Presidential Administration will not hesitate to assume its European and euroatlantic responsibilities in ensuring its own and allies security and imposing sanctions necessary against the Russian Federation, in the complicated regional context marked by the events in Ukraine. The statemenet belongs to President Traian Basescu, who met, on Wednesday, with Frank Rose, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Space and Defense Policy. The Romanian President expressed his concern for the deterioration of the international situation in the Black Sea region and the possible consequences for Romania and NATO. In turn, the American guest thanked President Basescu, on behalf of the U.S. Government, for the constant support that Romania offered in order to place elements of the anti-missile shield at Deveselu. Romanian-Canadian military exercise scheduled at Campia Turzii Air Base

Defence Minister Mircea Dusa, agreed, by telephone, with his Canadian counterpart, Robert Nicholson, organizing military exercises, at Air Force level, in the near future.
