Future plans of SEECP Romanian Presidency
The Romanian Presidency of the South-East European Co-operation Process (SEECP) is expected to support countries in the region in their attempt to join the EU, Romanian Foreign Minister Titus Corlățean told RADIO ROMANIA on Friday. Mr. Corlățean said the SEECP was increasingly important following recent crisis in Ukraine. "Our plans include conferences and political meetings with experts in crucial fields concerning the accession conditions. Such fields include the judiciary and means designed to combat corruption and organised crime. As we are expected to end our mandate by the end of June, we are planning to host a high level meeting of foreign ministers of the countries in the region with the Kosovo foreign minister as special guest. The move should not be seen as a change in our position on the issue (Kosovo independence, which Romania denies, ed. n.). However, it is an inclusive approach supported by all the countries in the region, Serbia included, and a political support of the integration process in the Balkans", Mr. Corlățean said.
