Romanian National Bank has decided to maintain the monetary policy rate at 3.5 percent per year

The Board of Directors of the Romanian National Bank has decided, today, to maintain the monetary policy rate at 3.5 percent per year, and the current levels of the mandatory minimum reserve rates. According to a press release issued by the bank, the Board will use all the tools available to maintain the financial and price stability on medium term.

Managers count on the growth in manufacturing, construction and trade industries

Company managers, inquired by the National Institute of Statistics, count on the growth in the manufacturing, construction and trade industries, up to and including May. Services will also have a slight increase compared with the previous three months. In terms of number of employees, it will be a moderate reduction in trade. Estimates were made after the National Institute of Statistics inquired more than 8,000 executives of different companies.

Over 5 million pensioners in Romania

Regarding the average pension, the lowest level was in Giurgiu county (below 650 lei), while in Bucharest it exceeded 1,000 lei.

The Romanian Health Ministry plans to increase the role of the family physicians in the early detection of cancer cases - Minister Nicolae Banicioiu has said today. He has emphasized that the ministry is looking for ways to financially reward the doctors for discovering early stages of the disease in patients. That would save a lot of efforts by the health care system and a lot of expenses for the case management later on.
